Rare Drew & Sons Travelling Bottle Set George III Silver Caps London 1781

An unusual Drew & Sons travelling bottle set comprising four matching clear glass bottles housed in their original fitted cylindrical leather case.
Each bottle is fitted with a George III sterling silver cap by Samuel & Edward Davenport, hallmarked London 1781. The caps have later colour-coded enamel identification rings, almost certainly added during a professional period adaptation when the Georgian mounts were fitted to the later bottles.
The leather case bears the impressed Drew & Sons maker's mark to the interior of the lid. Drew & Sons were one of London's leading makers and retailers of luxury travelling goods during the late Victorian and Edwardian period.
The bottles remain their original matching set and fit the case precisely. The combination of an original Drew & Sons case with four matching Georgian silver caps makes this an uncommon survival.

Condition: Good antique condition. The leather case displays age-related wear, scuffs and patina consistent with use. The glass bottles are matching and fit the case correctly. The silver caps retain clear hallmarks and have age-related surface wear and tarnish. The enamel identification rings show minor losses and wear, with a small bruise to the blue ring and losses to the yellow ring. No major damage noted to the bottles or leather case.
