Edwardian Silver Presentation Watch Fob 1909 Franco British Inscribed Medal

£45

Antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation fob, engraved:
“TO H. TINKER FROM FRANCO-BRITISH PICTURES 1909”.
A genuine early 20th-century presentation piece linked to Franco-British Pictures, an early film production company.

Originally a watch fob or presentation medal, later converted into a brooch. The pin fitting is damaged — the hook/clasp is broken and requires repair. Alternatively, the piece can be converted back into a watch fob or worn as a pendant.

A genuine early 20th century commemorative piece with clear personal inscription, typical of presentation awards of the period.

The brooch features an ornate openwork design with a central engraved monogram panel. The reverse inscription provides clear provenance and individuality.
Fully hallmarked for sterling silver (lion passant), assayed in Birmingham (anchor), with date letter for 1909 and maker’s mark W.J.D. Also stamped with registered design number Rd 303713, dating the design to 1898, while the piece itself was produced and presented in 1909.

Measurements:
4.5 x 3.5 cm (1.77 x 1.38 inches)
Weight: 13 grams

Condition: signs of age and wear, broken pin clasp as noted.
