Large Danish brass wall medallion after Bertel Thorvaldsen’s “The Day” / “Dagen.”
The relief depicts a winged female figure carrying a putto who scatters flowers. The original Thorvaldsen relief “Day” is one of the sculptor’s best-known works, paired with “Night.”
This example dates to circa 1900s and is made from pressed repoussé brass with a rolled rim and original hanging loop. The surface has a warm brass shine with natural age patina. Ready to hang.
