Vintage Soviet Cast Iron Chort Devil Figurine – USSR Slavic Folklore

Vintage Soviet cast iron figurine depicting a Chort, the devil or imp figure found in Slavic folklore.

The figure is modelled in a dynamic crouching pose with horns, cloven hooves, exaggerated hands and a long curved tail. It is finished in black lacquer and has the characteristic appearance of mid-20th-century Ural cast-iron decorative work.

A faint artisan or inspector-style mark is visible beneath the lacquer.
