Antique A. Ames Norwich Brooch Presentation Box, Blue Velvet, c.1900–1940

Antique brooch presentation box retailed by A. Ames, Jeweller, Goat Lane, Norwich.

The cream satin-lined lid is printed with the A. Ames name, crown device, “Jeweller” and the Goat Lane, Norwich address. The fitted base is lined in deep blue velvet with a cream border. The velvet interior has a narrow slot consistent with securing a brooch and its pin fitting. The exterior is burgundy red with a textured finish and gilt line around the lid. The case has a hinged construction and closes with a small push-button clasp. 102.R
