Antique C. H. Moody Jewellery Presentation Box, Crewe

Antique British jewellery presentation box retailed by C. H. Moody of Crewe, England.

The box has a burgundy exterior with gilt line detailing, hinged construction and a front push-button fastening. The fitted interior has a burgundy velvet base with two raised holders for a matched pair of small jewellery items. The fitting would have been suitable for small paired items such as cufflinks, studs or similar jewellery.

The inside of the lid is lined in purple satin and bears the original gold-stamped retailer’s mark for C. H. Moody, with the addresses 6 High Street and 5 Victoria Street, Crewe. 103.B

Charles Moody established his business in Crewe in 1883.
