Antique Oil Painting Still Life with Cyclamen – Frieda Kniep c.1900 – Original Gilt-wood Frame

This floral still life by Frieda Kniep, a listed German woman artist active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Known for her delicate, naturalistic compositions, Kniep specialised in intimate interior scenes and floral subjects of this kind.

The composition depicts a graceful arrangement of cyclamen blossoms set in a clear cut-glass vase, resting on a patterned textile. Signed F. Kniep in the lower right, the painting is presented in its original oval Rococo Revival giltwood frame, finely hand-carved with open scrollwork and retaining a warm, untouched antique gilding. Frame and painting form a harmonious and historically coherent ensemble.
