Antique Red Ring Box – Arthur Kay & Bro Manchester

Antique red ring presentation box from Arthur Kay & Bro, jewellers of 2 Market Street, Royal Exchange, Manchester.

The octagonal case has a red exterior with gilt dotted border detail, a cream satin-lined lid and a padded cream velvet ring insert. The inside lid retains the original Arthur Kay & Bro retailer mark beneath a crown motif.

The fitted slit in the padded base is designed to hold a ring. The case has a hinged lid and front push-button fastening.

Date: c.1900–1915, late Victorian to Edwardian period. 76.R

Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear to the red exterior, the cream interior has light discolouration and wear. The retailer’s mark remains clear and legible. Please refer to the photographs for full condition details.
