Antique Villeroy & Boch Dresden figural porcelain ashtray featuring a night watchman holding a lantern, accompanied by a small dog.

The figure stands on a circular ashtray base with shaped cigarette rests around the rim. The watchman is finished in a brown coat with a dark green scarf, gloves and cap, with a lantern in one hand.

The underside bears a Villeroy & Boch Dresden factory mark, model number 1788, and an additional impressed monogram with three letters, the middle letter unclear.
