Pair of antique French cast iron pigs, made circa 1900–1920. Originally used as piggy banks, but best understood today as small animal sculptures.
Solid cast iron with hand-painted finish. Good weight and clear form, typical of early 20th-century French work.
This pair would have been placed on the counter of a small butcher shop, serving both as decoration and as coin banks for small change.
Each has a coin slot. The surface shows age: paint wear, minor losses, and patina.
Suitable for display, collection, or interior use.
