Vintage Soviet Baltic Amber Necklace 875 Silver USSR Kaliningrad Art Nouveau Style
Vintage Soviet-era Baltic amber necklace, crafted in solid 875 silver and fully hallmarked with official USSR state assay marks.
The design features a sculptural central natural Baltic amber plaque, brooch-like in form, with cascading oxidised silver chains set with polished amber beads. The elegant festoon composition is influenced by Art Nouveau revival aesthetics. The amber displays rich cognac to cherry tones with natural internal inclusions typical of genuine Baltic amber.
Dated to the mid-Soviet period, circa 1960s–1970s.
The central plaque and both ends of the chain closure are also stamped 875 silver (USSR), The ЯМ maker’s mark is associated with Kaliningrad, historically one of the world’s most important centre for Baltic amber.
