Vintage Sterling Silver Rococo Photo Frame Birmingham 1996

Vintage sterling silver photograph frame, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1996.

The silver front is heavily embossed with dense scrolling foliage, floral motifs and Rococo-style ornament. The shaped border has rounded corners, a raised vacant cartouche at the top and further decorative relief along the lower edge. The reverse is covered in dark fabric and fitted with a folding easel stand for tabletop display.

Hallmarks include an S S sponsor’s mark, the Birmingham Assay Office anchor, lion passant for sterling silver and W date letter for 1996. 27.B
